Abbie
Update 3.24.08: Abbie's foster family says she's gained a lot of weight and is doing well. She is crate trained and working on her potty training skills. We think Abbie may be an Australian Shepherd mix. She'very smart, active and very brave. Abbie do well in a home where she can get lots of training and have lots of attention. She may make a great agility dog!
SCGSR rescued Abbie after receiving a call from the shelter. They had a tiny 8 week old puppy who was testing positive for Parvo. She needed help right away. Even though Abbie is a tiny little girl and her only resemblance to a German Shepherd is her coloring, we whisked her off to our vet for care. It turns out little Abbie didn't have Parvo, she was starved and abused, and after a week in foster care Abbie is thriving!
If you would like to meet Abbie, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
