Angel Angel is a beautiful purebred white German Shepherd. She is about 3 years of age, just old enough to mind her manners but young enough to keep up with an active family. Angel was found wandering the streets of East LA. When she was brought into the shelter, the workers there discovered she was chipped. But when they called her owners, they told the shelter to keep her. Due to their negligence, she was covered in fleas, her ear was cut, and she was severely underweight, probably because of giardia contracted from drinking dirty water on the streets. When her foster mommy picked her up at the shelter, she weighed a mere 58 lbs. But since then, she has gained 30 lbs and is now a strong, healthy 88 lb lady!
She currently lives with her 100 lb foster brother, Beau & her 7 lb foster sister Olive. She gets along great with both of them and demonstrates patience with the young teething puppy. Angel has been around cats and ignores them. She prefers rough housing with the other canines and gets along well with all dogs she has met.
All this beauty wants is L-O-V-E. She nuzzles up to you begging for scratches and hugs and the occasional treat. She is very committed to her pack, staying close at dog parks & beaches, and coming when she is called. She could use some additional training but it will not take long for this sweet girl to become the perfect family dog. Is your family ready to welcome this guardian "Angel" into your home?
If you would like to meet Angel, please fill out our
online application. This is the starting
point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24
hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more
information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence,
children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs.
Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
