IMPORTANT-SAFETY FIRST!
Fast Facts can be used as a guide to a dog's temperament, however every dog is an individual and will react to different situations in a unique manner. Although we do our best to evaluate a dog's temperament, we have not seen every dog in every possible situation. Please approach any unfamiliar dog with caution, particularly when you have children with you. Always ask an adoption counselor for guidance when interacting with dogs at adoption events or handlers for guidance with dogs in any situation, anywhere. Remember, safety first!

Bruno
Hi, I'm Bruno! I'm a beautiful example of a classic German shepherd bred from eastern European working lines. My family reluctantly gave me up due to financial hardship and losing our home. Thankfully I wound up in a rescue and not in a scary shelter or, worse, abandoned somewhere. The family's little girl even gave me a farewell gift, which I'd share with you but it's just for dogs and I've already eaten it; pigs ears.
I've been professionally trained in basic obedience and know my commands well although I do best with people who have some experience with handling dogs. I'm an ace at riding in the car. Want me to go into a crate or go to "my place?" Just tell me and I'll do it. With me, healing is a breeze. Given my background, I'm a little high energy but my job is being a family pet, which I'm really good at. I love children and even lived with a small poodle. I'm not so sure about cats because I haven't had a chance to be around them. One of my favorite activities is playing ball, which I do with lots of enthusiasm. Wanna play?
Bruno's sponsors include:
Mario, Laura and Barney-the-dog.
If you would like to meet Bruno, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
