IMPORTANT-SAFETY FIRST!
Fast Facts can be used as a guide to a dog's temperament, however every dog is an individual and will react to different situations in a unique manner. Although we do our best to evaluate a dog's temperament, we have not seen every dog in every possible situation. Please approach any unfamiliar dog with caution, particularly when you have children with you. Always ask an adoption counselor for guidance when interacting with dogs at adoption events or handlers for guidance with dogs in any situation, anywhere. Remember, safety first!

Cooper

Hi my name is Cooper!

Not very long ago I was dumped in the desert and almost didnt make it but lucky for me a kind hearted family took me in and nursed me back to health. Once I started feeling better they brought me to SCSGR so they could help me find my forever family. I now live in a foster home with two dogs and two kids. My foster family calls me Crazy Cooper because I am crazy for balls!

I am good at sitting and down when I am told to and if you call my name I will come to you. I walk very nicely on a leash but I get excited when I see other dogs. I love my crate and my comfy dog bed inside of it. New situations make me nervous but once I feel safe I relax.

I am an active guy so I hope to find a family that likes to exercise their four legged friends. In return I will give you love, loyalty and most importantly a strong throwing arm!

  • If you would like to meet Cooper, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.

  • Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.

  • The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.

  • Here I am looking regal in my foster home!
