IMPORTANT-SAFETY FIRST!
Fast Facts can be used as a guide to a dog's temperament, however every dog is an individual and will react to different situations in a unique manner. Although we do our best to evaluate a dog's temperament, we have not seen every dog in every possible situation. Please approach any unfamiliar dog with caution, particularly when you have children with you. Always ask an adoption counselor for guidance when interacting with dogs at adoption events or handlers for guidance with dogs in any situation, anywhere. Remember, safety first!
If you are interested in this dog, please fill out our online application.

Donovan
Donovan is one of
Juno's puppies. Juno and her eleven tiny babies came to Southern California German Shepherd Rescue through a plea from the shelter. Animal control offices had gone to a deserted home at the request of neighbors, and found a young German Shepherd abandoned and starving, trapped in the yard. They also found that she had 11 tiny babies, no older than a day or two. SCGSR volunteers generously agreed to take in Juno and her babies and help raise them and bring Juno back to good health. Juno and her babies saga has been streamed live at Ustream.com since they first entered foster care. We've had puppy lullabies, puppy bedtime stories and puppy naming ceremonies live on camera! Juno and her puppies are a web sensation!
Donovan is quite the pretty boy with a white blaze on his chest. Donovan makes
sure that you notice him out of the crowd! You can meet and follow Juno's puppies
online here.
Juno's litter will be available for adoption beginning the week of October 19,
2009. An application, interview and home check is required. Adoption donations
for Juno's puppies are tax deductible and will be $500. This includes spay or neuter,
all vaccinations thru date of adoption (usually that will mean you'll need to get
their rabies shot at four months old). These puppies will also be microchipped.
We will very likely have hundreds of applications and emails to process, so please
fill out the application and be patient, we are an all volunteer organization.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
