Duce
We are sorry to report that our little Duce, after a long hard battle, has gone to the rainbow bridge on October 19, 2009 because of distemper he caught in the shelter. If you're an advocate for animals, please hold your local shelters' feet to the fire when it comes to isolating incoming puppies and vaccinating them, and keeping conditions sanitized. We will always miss you Duce.
Duce
and
his brother
Ace
found
their
way to a high
kill shelter
at
just 8 weeks
of
age. Thanks
to
SCGSR volunteers
and
supporters,
they
are safe
with
us now.
Photos
and
more information
coming
soon,
they
are
super cute!!
Puppies are a 10 to 15 year commitment. Please consider adoption carefully and make sure you're in a position to always have a home for your pet. Puppies require hours of attention and training every day. Their health care can be expensive and you can expect to pay over $1,000 a year to keep your pet fed and healthy.
If
you would
like to meet
Duce, please
fill out our
online application.
This is the
starting
point
in adopting
from SCGSR.
We strive
to keep our
website current
within 24
hours. If
you see a
dog on our
site, it
is most likely
available.
The more
information
you give
us
about your
dog experience,
your home,
your fence,
children
and
other pets,
the better
we can do
to match
you with one
of our dogs.
Keep
in mind that
we may be
working with
prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
