Happy Tails!

Greta, formerly Cheyenne, with her buddy Gracie
Hi Marcy, I’ve been meaning to write and give you an update about Greta (Cheyenne). She’s having the time of her life here. She goes out in the yard with Gracie and they’ll just play for hours. She’s only barked once while here, and that was when she spotted the neighbors cat across the street. The baby steps all over her and she never bats an eye. She loves her food and cookies. She’s been very well behaved when she goes to the vet. She has completely settled into life with us. I finally got a picture of the 2 dogs standing still. Usually when they’re in the yard one of them is jumping on the other one and it’s impossible to get a shot that isn’t blurry from all the motion. Greta has also taken to fixing the landscaping in our yard. She’s been busy pruning some of our small palms, I guess that’s one way to keep them from getting too big. Thanks again for bringing Greta that day. She has definitely become a full fledged member of the family.

Jake: Adopted 12.17.06
Hi Marcy! Oh my goodness, JAKE IS SO AWESOME!!!!! I wish you could see him having the time of his life running around our property. It was as if he had been set free for the first time in his life! Let me tell you, he is FAST! I mean lightening fast. He immediately took to our dogs and then ran to the fence line and all around the perimeter as if to stake out his new domain. He was SO excited!!! I mean SOOOOO happy. Daniel and I both agree that he seems to be the happiest dog we’ve ever seen. He is so grateful about everything. He has quickly found his place in the pack! He is right in the middle. Hanna let him know very nicely but firmly that SHE is the alpha Queen and Bella let him know she’s the submissive one. The 3 of them have been hilarious to watch. Hanna doesn’t have the energy to run like Jake does so she just squares off and waits for him to come charging back to her and lunges toward him with a bluffing growl and off he goes again. It’s so funny. Needless to say, they are all fast asleep right now, recharging for a big day tomorrow. Big Daniel took him back outside one more time before his bedtime tonight and he came back in and said “I LOVE this dog, he’s amazing.” Jake took off after a rabbit like a bullet and then ran the fence line. He would always come back to check in with Daniel before taking off again. What a cool dog. He is so awesome, I’m so grateful we found him on your website!!! And to answer your question about changing his name, no way. He is a “Jake” through and through. His name fits him perfectly. Now if it were Twist, I would have changed it for sure. J As for our snooty cats, he doesn’t seem interested at all. He has clearly been accustomed to them, which is great. Oh, by the way, he LOVES avocadoes. He’s already had one today. I’m so happy he likes them. I’m sure the essential oils and vitamins will be wonderful for his overall health and skin. I’ll find out tomorrow if he likes carrots too. Organic carrots are the treats of choice around here. I’ll be sure and fax the contract back to you tomorrow morning sometime. Thanks again for rescuing Jake adopting him to us, he is SUCH a special guy. He has made our family complete! All the Best, Pamela

Kelsey: Adopted 12.16.06
Good morning Marcy, We had a wonderful day yesterday with Kelsey. I went to the pet store and bought her a bunch of stuff. She likes her new bed. I also got a tag for her. She has a wonderful personality. I am amazed how friendly and loving and playful she is already with us. It is like she has lived here all her life. She must have realized it was bed time, she went into my room and laid down. She slept very well. We are enjoying her! She seems to be very happy. Thank you! Kandi

Clint & Bindi Score!
12.14.06 note from Clint & Bindi's family:
Hello Marcy! Have not had a chance to thank you for making this Christmas and many years to come so special. The joy Bindi brought to the family I thought could never be topped until I met Mr. Clint. I wish I had a video of the reunion after being apart for only 25 hours. We all agree no more vacations without these two even if we have to purchase a motorhome. Every morning 6:30 AM we start with a dog walk within the fenced 8 acres without a leash. They never leave our side unless a rabbitt runs out and then they go zero to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. Clint is not rabbit, squirrel or cat friendly! Since the time you were here we Hydroseeded 3 acres of grass which the dogs chase each other in most of the day. All the work that has gone on with the new street was finished today and of all the 30 to 50 different workers during the past month the only time Clint had to be restrained was when the County Building inspector showed up. Tell me dogs cant read the minds of thier masters! The inspector signed off and left within 5 minutes! Not knowing Clints past Im still very carefull not to allow any opening for him to run. We always had pets growing up but i have never felt an attachment like I do with Clint Kate and I took Bindi alone to the beach last week without Clint. She still chases butterflies but at the beach its seagulls! We laughed all the way home! Better run -none of the above was possibile without you! Thanks again and if you ever in the area stop by we are almost always home . Joel

10.12.06 - Bindi goes home! Little Bindi landed in paradise, with two kids, a loving mom and dad, and other puppies to play with! Here's a note from her new family:

Dear Marcy,
We could not be happier with Bindi! She goes everywhere with us in the car already. We picked up the kids from school on Friday and everyone fell in love with her. At Petco they thought she was the cutest and sweetest and so well behaved for a puppy! We definatley think she is the smartest dog we have ever met. She plays with Falco a couple times a day, and they LOVE each other!! She and the kids ADORE each other, and so do we. We got her a crate and some very soft beds and she goes in and out on her own. It seems as if she has been a member of our family for years already. Thanks again for everything.

And thanks to Ramona and Joel for rescuing our sweet Bindi!

9.11.06 - From Marci and Elliott and sister Chassi: My husband and I adopted Sadie (formerly Halle) from the socalrescue group and we couldn't be happier! She is a very sweet, smart, and loving dog! She even gets along with our little Jack Russell terrier! She is definitely a special dog and we look forward to many happy and healthy years together. She is definitely part of our family now. I would sincerely recommend adopting a dog from this group!

Timber and Cedar went to their forever home together on August 24, 2006!

Meet sweet Ellie (formerly known as Reba). Ellie nearly didn't make it. She was rescued in mid-June, made a miraculous recovery and is now living happily ever after with her new family!
