5.16.08: India at home with Allison, Steve and her good buddy Zuzu. The change in India from just three months ago is what keeps us going! Check out her before photos and you'll see what we mean. Thanks to wonderful loving homes like India's, we can save innocent, neglected and abused dogs and turn their lives around.

5.5.08: Bobby has finally found love, along with enough exercise with mom Karen, dad York and his brother. A tired dog is a good dog! All is now well in Bobby's world!

5.5.08: Abbie with the Pucher family, Shawn, Dahra and Oreo. As Shawn says, two dogs are easier than one!

4.21.08: Beautiful Lara at home with her beautiful mom, Lynn!
Lynn is a guardian angel for Lara and for SCGSR Dogs!

3.31.08: Zeus at home with his buddy Jersey, happy at last with Matt and Tiffany!

Hello Marcy –

We’re happy to report things are going beautifully with Zeus. He is adapting very well in his new home and doing great at dog obedience with Mirna.

Best of all, he and Jersey have developed a good doggie friendship. Remember, when the first met! Yikes! Well now they’re doing really well. They even sleep together after their morning walk. Pictures included from to different mornings! We put another dog bed out so that they would have their space, but apparently Zeus prefers to cuddle up next the little guy after breakfast.

The whole family is going camping next weekend. We have a backpack for Zeus to carry, and a backpack to carry Jersey in when he gets tired ;-).

Best wishes,

Tiffany

3.25.08: Simba in his happy home with the Vermooten family. Simba came to SCGSR over Thanksgiving 2007, he was a very ill puppy indeed. A lot of people pulled for Simba, and you can see the wonderful results for yourself! Stories like these are the reward for everyone's efforts, from shelter workers, to rescuers, vets, our supporters and adopters. Simba's is truly a life saved.

Shiloh, happy at home with the Struckmeyer family!

Here are a few pictures of Shilo in his new home. He came into our home three weeks ago and immediately made himself comfortable. We decided not to change his name, although we can surely understand why Shadow would also make a good name for him. It is rare that he ever gets more than an arm's reach from at least one of us. This big boy is 75 pounds of pure puppy. He loves to wrestle on the floor, although he always lets me win. He also likes to climb up into the bed and step on us as he walks around in circles looking for a good place to lay down (usually right in the way of the television). But his favorite thing to do is playing fetch. He seems to never tire of retrieving his ball and dropping it at our feet to be thrown again. Shilo is a wonderful addition to our family and we look forward to watching him grow up with our little girl.

The Struckmeyer Family

Fritz (formerly Rocky) with his new mom Cindy. Fritz was adopted from the shelter as a baby, then returned over a year later. His family asked the shelter to put him to sleep. The reason? He had an easily and cheaply treated eye disease called Pannus. A few drops in his eyes and he's fine. Thanks to Cindy and Gene for saving Fritz's life and giving him the loving home he always deserved!

Bayou, one of the puppies found dumped in a rural area, happy at home with the Gambos family!

Bayou is just amazing - we are all having so much fun together, he loves the backyard, he loves the house and he and Michael are getting along famously. On the weekends when Michael takes a nap, Bayou likes to sleep by his bed for a little bit, very sweet! He also enjoys going to tennis with us on Saturdays! He and our cat, Zena, are still trying to figure each other out, but that will come with time. They get closer and closer each time they check each other out. Bayou is good with his crate and although we are still having some accidents in the house, it is few and far between now (and probably usually our fault). He has a dog house outside and about 4 beds in the house aside from the one in his crate, plus a multitude of plush toys - he seems pretty happy!

We have attached a few pictures for you to see (both ears are up now!). We will send you more pictures when he breaks through the 50 pound mark! :)

Thank you for everything!

Bela, Joy, Michael, Zena, and Bayou

Lake, now Dutchess, happy in her home with the Edwards family, Abby the Jack Russell, Jake (SCGSR alumni) and the horses!
Hi Marcy,
Oh my goodness could Duchess possibly be any more adorable?!! She has been having an absoute blast up here. There is just so much to do, see and explore, she doesn't know where to start! She's been following the kids all over the property and Jake has been teaching her all about bee hunting already. (Not sure that she thinks it's a really good idea though! ) And apparently she has never seen horses before because when she saw them she started barking like crazy. It was really funny. She must think they are enormous dogs. She listens extremely well and is sharp as a tack. She'll be so easy to train with commands, she's so responsive and eager to learn. That's the beauty about getting a puppy, you get to start with a clean slate instead of spending so much time untraining bad habits. She's an amazing girl. I attached some pictures of her, she's so photogenic!
Thanks again for entrusting this precious girl to us, we are absolutely in love with her already, she fits into our family of people and pets just perfectly! I'll be in touch! Blessings,
Pamela
