Gypsy
Beautiful Gypsy found herself in a scary high kill shelter, housed with a pit bull so aggressive our volunteer couldn't get near the kennel to pet Gypsy. She was very scared. Our volunteer saw through the fear and decided that sweet Gypsy deserved a chance at a good life. Gypsy looks as if she's recently had a litter of puppies. She is on the small side, probably around 60 pounds.

Gypsy is doing very well in her foster home. She quickly warmed up to her foster mom, and is learning that playing with the young female dog that lives there is a lot of fun. She's housebroken, rides nicely in the car, walks well on a leash and is non-destructive in the house. Gypsy would like to stop being a nomad, she would be so thankful for a loving home.

  • If you would like to meet Gypsy, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.

  • Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.

  • The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
