Pet Meds

Southern California German Shepherd Rescue
SCGSR is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, providing spay/neuter and veterinary care, and re-homing German shepherds and other pets in Southern California. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are funded through tax-deductible donations from adopters and individuals like you who care about the fate of these neglected companion animals. SCGSR specializes in helping ill and unadoptable abandoned pets regain their health and placing them into caring, loving forever homes. Together, we can envision a day when companion animals will no longer face inhumane treatment, abandonment or perish in shelters.

05.16.12: Meet Shadow, SCGSR's newest great save! This beauty was rescued on her last day from Imperial County. Shy and sweet, and quite petite, and good with other dogs big and small, she is pining for a place to call her own, even if its a loving foster home.

05.16.12: Linus got his stitches out yesterday! There is just no comparison between this happy guy and the one SCGSR rescued! Our vet is very happy with the result, his leg is healing well as is his pelvis! Two weeks until x-rays and neuter and then Mr. Linus will be ready to rock and roll! We are just about $500 short of our goal, but we are confident everyone who sees Linus feeling so much better will pitch in just a little bit through the firstgiving link below to help him pay his wonderful vet! We can't help pups like Linus without you!

05.04.12: UPDATE! Linus has successfully undergone surgery and goes to his foster home today!
Linus's surgery went well! His break was plated and his hip has been left to heal on its own - our vet felt that would be the best for Linus. Can you see the relief in his eyes? We certainly can.
Thank you to all our supporters who pitch in to help us save lives like Linus's. His bill for surgery and meds to go to his foster home is $1608. Can you spare $5 or $10 to help Linus pay for his surgery and help SCGR say yes to the next dog who needs us? Please pitch in throught the Chipin for Linus, every little bit helps. We can't wait to see this adoreable little guy running around, happy and playing!

Please use FirsGiving! Our Chipin widget doesn't work very well. We are raising the second half of Linus's funds through Firstgiving because its more reliable for our donors!

05.01.12: Linus needs your help.
Linus's found himself in a shelter with his leg broken in two places. Our volunteers rushed to save him. We found out today that Linus's knee is crushed and his pelvis is broken. Our vet has ordered a special plate for Linus' knee. It will arrive tomorrow. He will attempt to fix the knee and when he's doing that surgery, he will look at Linus's hip and either leave it to heal or do an FHO surgery.

He said that Linus may end up as a three legged dog but he will try his best to save the leg. Linus is on a fentanyl patch and comfortable overnight. He is scared and confused, but still gives a little kiss to our volunteers. Please contribute to our "save Linus" fund now. All donations made during May will qualify for a personal pet portrait by Pawsinality Painted Pets!

This video is Linus when he was still at the shelter.

05.08.12: Winner of the April Necklace Drawing was Janet R. Thank you for participating!

Wolfgang Pup jumps for joy. Joy, because he is alive, and he's alive because SCGSR got him out of the shelter. Wolfgang Pup would be really happy if more GSDs could jump for joy. Can you make a Jump For Joy donation to celebrate with Wolfie?
