sweet, this five year old coated German Shepherd is agreeable and loveable. She attaches quickly, to both dogs and people. Isabel has been professionally trained, she responds instantly to commands to heel, sit and down. Isabel is a worrier, she really needs someone to give her time, exercise and love. She takes comfort in going through her routine of training and settles instantly when asked to.
In a foster home Isabel relaxes and lays at the feet of her foster family. In situations where she's unsure, she makes sounds that have led SCGSR volunteers to believe she's a Wookie from Star Wars! In fact that was her Halloween costume in the Boo Parade. She's both furry and makes a sound unknown in the dog world but probably common somewhere in the Universe! Isabel would love to have her own family, she will do well in a single dog home or with dog friendly dogs who will be fine ministering to her high energy, at least until she settles in and feels loved and safe again.

If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
