IMPORTANT-SAFETY FIRST!
Fast Facts can be used as a guide to a dog's temperament, however every dog is an individual and will react to different situations in a unique manner. Although we do our best to evaluate a dog's temperament, we have not seen every dog in every possible situation. Please approach any unfamiliar dog with caution, particularly when you have children with you. Always ask an adoption counselor for guidance when interacting with dogs at adoption events or handlers for guidance with dogs in any situation, anywhere. Remember, safety first!

Jude
Update 11.24.09: Jude is starting to feel better!

Poor Jude was turned in games on dora web page to the shelter by his family. They could no longer afford to care for him. Its apparent now that they never could care for him. Jude was not vaccinated and contracted kennel cough at the shelter which turned into pneumonia. He is 64 pounds and should weigh 95 pounds. He came to us with a temperature of 106, which is about as high as a dog can go without subsequent problems. A caring volunteer drove hours to pick him up and bring him to our vet, where he remains hospitalized.

To top off this poor guy's problems, he has a severe case of growing pains, or pano, which can last until he's 18 months old. SCGSR has hospitalized Jude (shelter name Chico) on pain meds and IV antibiotics and we're doing everything we can for this youngster to get him healthy and in to a loving home. Can you help us help Jude? Please donate

Thank you to Jude's generous sponsors:

Oliver and Nikki

  • If you would like to meet Jude, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.

  • Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.

  • The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.

  • Jude starting to feel better on 11/24/09.
