Juliet

Update 6.12:09: Ms. Juliet has recovered! Her coat is still short in some places, but you would never know she had been in such terrible shape two months ago when SCGSR rescued her. Juliet is a happy, agile, loving girl who adores other dogs. She is the momma type! That said she gets along with all dogs big and small and loves being in a crowd. She's housebroken, quiet and is devoted and loving to people, she is agile and would make a great running companion. Juliet still becomes a little cautious when first meeting new people, she will bark to alert to intruders but quickly decides she loves everyone!

Juliet's first bio:It took a blog about dora games village to save Juliet. Three German Shepherd rescues worked together to save her and an SCGSR volunteer drove about 200 miles to bring her to safety. None of us could let this sweet creature be euthanized just because some hard hearted person had let her starve and be overwhelmed by skin infections. Juliet is probably about one year old. She knows she doesn't look her best right now. But soon she'll understand that she's eating well and regularly, getting the veterinary care and medicine she desperately needs, and then she'll be a happy girl. Unfortunately we've seen dogs in her condition before, and with proper care they recover and nobody would ever guess the way they've suffered. Can you imagine the horrible place where Juliet lived before she ended up in the shelter facing death, and being there because of the cruelty she'd suffered? Had Juliet been healthy, a normal weight and had minimal care, she might have been adopted from the shelter. In Juliet, can you see the beautiful girl just waiting to live a happy life? Please make a donation to help SCGSR give Juliet what she needs to put her horrible past behind her.

5.3.09: Check me out everybody, I'm growing fur and looking so much better!

  • If you would like to meet Juliet, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.

  • Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.

  • The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.

  • Our precious girl!

    04.07.09: Help save Juliet!
Juliet faces certain death in the shelter. She looks so sad, and she's probably not much more than a year old. Obviously she has been neglected and had a very rough life. Her only option is rescue, she will not be adopted from the shelter. We have seen this so many times, all Juliet needs is some time, love and care, she will be beautiful! Dogs like Juliet always seem to be the sweetest dogs we rescue, they appreciate any little tenderness they're given and never take your love for granted.

04.10.09: Juliet is safe at at SCGSR's vet's office in San Diego! Juliet is sweet as pie, and she wants everyone know, with your help she can leave her horrible past behind her! Shelter workers were so happy to see Juliet be rescued. They said that she looked better just after eating for a few days. Someone starved her nearly to death. Together we can erase all of Juliet's past suffering and bring her the joy and happiness she deserves.

04.21.09: Juliet is a super star in her foster home!! This sweet girl, so terribly malnourished, is the happiest dog on the planet. She still looks so bad, but her medications are starting to work and her skin is turning a pretty pink color instead of angry red. She takes her baths like a champ, shivering and stoic. She is so good, sits for her treats, taking them gently, playing with the other dogs. She likes to eat out of the food bin when her dinner is coming - its a no-no but we let her anyway!
