Katie
The first time we saw Katie, she was shaking like a leaf and had fleas crawling all over her. Her tiny six week old paw pads were cracked, dry and filthy. She was covered in dirt. Most people who visit our website will find this hard to understand, but Katie and her sister Lulu were dumped on the freeway, with no regard for their obvious intended fate. A good Samaratin saw them and dora candyland games
scooped them up and brought them to SCGSR. Hopefully only these two girls were dumped, and thankfully we have a foster family ready to help and we are getting them the vet care they need. After a half hour or so of petting, both girls stopped trembling and started little puppy behaviors like chewing on fingers. Unfortunately dog dumping happens all the time. People who think its a brilliant idea to breed puppies to make money find out they are so much trouble, they cost so much to feed and take so much time to clean up after, and nobody answers their "puppies for sale" ads. Puppy and dog dumping is illegal, immoral and cowardly, and if you know where and Katie came from, please email us right away.
Katie and her sister will be available for adoption at age 12 weeks. They look like boxers to us, but could be mixes. Once they understand they're safe and well taken care of, we'll know more about their personalities.
Katie and Lulu would like to ask you for a small donation so SCGSR can help other desperate animals. They want SCGSR to be able to say yes when they get that phone call. Even small donations add up fast! Please help, make a donation now.
If you would like to meet Katie, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
