Kota
Kota is a tall classic and beautiful boy who has been through the mill. Kota's first family went through an acrimonious divorce. Dogs are bothered by these things, they're sensitive and unfortunately when people are locked into battles, the last thing they think about are the feelings of their dog. Kota lost his home, his family and the small dog he was very attached to. The new apartment took small dogs, but not large ones. A kind-hearted couple took Kota in, but he is too much for them with their new baby, they didn't realize how much work he would be.

Kota has adjusted very well to being in rescue, he's a much happier dog in just a week or so, as you can see from the photos. Kota gets along great with other dogs, big and small, and was social and happy at an adoption event/doggie day care, mingling and being a good boy. SCGSR would like to see Kota find a home where he can continue his journey to happy contentment, be well loved and make up for lost time and a lost puppyhood.

  • If you would like to meet Kota, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.

  • Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.

  • The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
