Rocky
Rocky is an absolute angel, he's even good with cats! Rocky's mixed with something more agile and sweeter than your normal German Shepherd, his foster mom guesses he might be a collie/shepherd mix. Shy at first and very sweet, Rocky quickly becomes attached to people. Rocky was adopted from the shelter at 3 months old. In September 2007, Rocky's family brought him back to the shelter - and asked that he be put to sleep. The reason? His eyes were red. Rocky has Pannus, an inexpensively controlled eye condition common to German Shepherds. Rocky has been treated at the Eye Clinic for Animals in San Diego and his eyes are clear in less than one week.

Rocky may need some inexpensive eye drops on and off during his life. All dogs require vet care, and Rocky certainly didn't deserve to lose his life over a prescription that costs $11.99 at Costco. Thanks to Rocky's guardian angel Janet, SCGSR was able to step in and save his life!
