Shiloh
Shiloh must have been purchased as a puppy. Just look at him! Ending up at the shelter at under one year, Shiloh was adopted. A cute puppy turned into an adult German Shepherd and found himself at the shelter once again just recently. Shiloh was adopted a third time to be a companion for a 13 year old dog. With too much energy for his 13 year old companion, Shiloh found himself back at the shelter within days. Lucky for SCGSR and our adopters, the shelter decided it was time to turn to rescue for this beautiful boy.
This is the heartbreaking story of puppies carelessly bred and sold without regard for their futures. Shiloh is active but sensitive. He is somewhat above the romp and stomp of his foster siblings, and a little slower to accept dogs into his inner circle. Shiloh (formerly Shadow, but we don't want him to be anyone's shadow - we want him to be his own dog!) adores people, any people. He's a bit uneducated about riding in cars, sleeping in crates and eating cookies, as can be expected from the life he's led. Shiloh is ready to begin his life as a loved and privileged pet, he's ready for the second act of his life to begin! Shiloh is housebroken, responsive and a real love bug.
If you would like to meet Shiloh, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
