Skyla
I'm Skyla. I came from Imperial Valley. Nobody cared about me except Dr. Steve, who brought me to SCGSR. I'm about 10 months old. Since I came to SCGSR, for the first time ever I'm feeling SO popular! Their volunteers just gaze into my eyes and say how pretty and soulful I am. I'm not sure what that means but I like it!
I'm housebroken and quiet, crate trained, I'm tolerant of puppies. I love other dogs, but to tell the truth I would rather be right by your side. I can use a doggie door, I take my treats very gently, and I really don't care if anyone plays with my toys. I eat right in the middle of a crowd, and if someone wants my bowl, I just move along to the next bowl.
When I got my microchip my foster mom nearly fainted. She made a pretty big scene because the needle was so big. I had to sit right by her side in the vet's lobby while she recovered. I had to tell her it was okay, it only hurt for a moment and now she could always find me if I needed her.
Thank you Dr. Steve for saving me and bringing me to San Diego to find a loving home!

starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
