Timber
Timber is a big, lovable hunk of a dog, snatched from a high kill shelter. He was painfully skinny, but has put on a few pounds and is looking quite healthy now. He's very calm in the house, on a leash and in the car. He likes to be near his people, but isn't a velcro dog. (Meaning, you will be able to use the bathroom alone.)
He doesn't like any trouble. If he sees a
dog picking on another one he tries to stop it by pushing his way in the middle-no growling or biting, just body blocking. We're going to give him a uniform and a badge, and call him The Peacemaker. He will bark if there's something to bark at, but will politely greet visitors once you've let them in the house. He expressed a little too much interest in a cat that he met, so we don't recommend that he go to a household with cats.
Timber would love to have his permanent sleeping place be on a big soft dog bed on your bedroom floor. He would reward you with much love and devotion for that simple pleasure.
If you would like to meet Timber, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
