IMPORTANT-SAFETY FIRST!
Fast Facts can be used as a guide to a dog's temperament, however every dog is an individual and will react to different situations in a unique manner. Although we do our best to evaluate a dog's temperament, we have not seen every dog in every possible situation. Please approach any unfamiliar dog with caution, particularly when you have children with you. Always ask an adoption counselor for guidance when interacting with dogs at adoption events or handlers for guidance with dogs in any situation, anywhere. Remember, safety first!

Winston
I'm Winston. I'm about one and a half. SCGSR volunteers know that because I just seem to keep growing and I'm all fluffed out now! I'm great on a leash, housebroken, adore people of all ages and other dogs. I'm a little forward in my playstyle so my doggie companions can't be too snooty, because I'm going to love them whatever may come my way!

My favorite foster mom who had to more dora and games move away for her job said I'm a great condo dog if I get enough exercise and my family isn't opposed to using a crate. I like my crate. Where I get into trouble is when I'm left alone in a yard, I don't jump but I can get under a fence like nobody's business. So if you have a safe place for me, or can get me enough exercise if we live in a condo, I'm you're guy. You won't regret it, because when we're at Starbucks having a latte, everyone will be telling you how beautiful I am! If I do say so myself!.

Apply for me today. Don't miss out! I don't even shed. Um, uh, I have my paws crossed, don't hold me to that not shedding thing.

I could also use a foster home who is saavy with my Northern Breed personality. Get me outta boarding please!

  • If you would like to meet Winston, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.

  • Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.

  • The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
