Yuli
On Yuli's first ever lucky day, a 10 facts about dora computer games
group of protesters, trying to bring change to the high-kill Downey shelter in Los Angeles, saw Yuli enter the parking lot in the back of an open pick up truck crammed with gardening equipment. His owners were "moving." The protest group immediately sent out the desperate word that this stunning dog needed rescue, and many kind people worked together to save him, including a transporter who drove Yuli from Downey to San Diego.
Even people who have rescued and had animal welfare as their mission for a long time can be astounded to see the cavalier way in which stunning, purebred dogs are treated. For some its hard to get past the thinking that dogs who end up in shelters are mixed breeds, sick, old, or otherwise somehow undesirable, just due to the fact that they're at the shelter.
Yuli is one more tangible proof that that thinking is wrong. Yuli should weigh 100 pounds to be a healthy dog, and still be thin enough to keep his joints strong. He now weighs 85 pounds. His diet must have been horrendous, maybe a corn-based diet such as Purina, Iams or Eukanuba? (See chart of undesirable foods.) Maybe not even dog food, who knows? His coat is dry, brittle and thin, and his skin is inflamed.
In just a few weeks on a good diet, Yuli will have a gorgeous coat. In six months, Yuli will look like a show dog, and we guarantee he's going to be a very impressive head turner! Yuli will make your heart go pitter-patter!
If you would like to meet Yuli, please fill out our online application. This is the starting point in adopting from SCGSR. We strive to keep our website current within 24 hours. If you see a dog on our site, it is most likely available. The more information you give us about your dog experience, your home, your fence, children and other pets, the better we can do to match you with one of our dogs. Keep in mind that we may be working with prior applicants.
Our adoption donations are tax deductible and range from $300 to $500. Dogs will be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and in most instances they will be microchipped. To those big hearted people willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems, we will work with you on adoption donation amounts.
The adoption process involves an application, a telephone interview, a meeting with our dogs and then a home and fence check. In certain cases photos of your house and yard may be substituted for a home check.
